History of Incidents

Since the beginning of the large-scale conflict in Ukraine, a series of Russian military commanders have been attacked within Moscow.

This latest event echoes other notable incidents, such as:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a car bomb attack in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a bomb placed on a scooter was set off from a distance.

While a source from Ukraine previously attributed Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such claims are never formally acknowledged as a matter of policy.

The war has witnessed clandestine operations reaching into the center of the Russian capital.

The probe into General Sarvarov's death continues to be underway.
