The top legal official in Texas Paxton is suing the producers of Tylenol, claiming the companies concealed alleged dangers that the pain reliever presented to pediatric brain development.

This legal action comes thirty days after Former President Trump publicized an unsubstantiated connection between consuming acetaminophen - referred to as paracetamol - throughout gestation and autism spectrum disorder in young ones.

Paxton is taking legal action against the pharmaceutical giant, which formerly manufactured the drug, the sole analgesic suggested for pregnant women, and the current manufacturer, which presently makes it.

In a declaration, he claimed they "misled consumers by gaining financially from pain and promoting medication without regard for the risks."

The manufacturer states there is insufficient reliable data linking Tylenol to autism spectrum disorder.

ACOG has declared acetaminophen - the primary component in Tylenol - is one of the few options for pregnant women to treat pain and fever, which can present serious health risks if ignored.

"In multiple decades of investigation on the utilization of paracetamol in gestation, not a single reputable study has definitively established that the use of paracetamol in any stage of gestation results in neurological conditions in young ones," the association stated.

This legal action cites recent announcements from the Trump administration in asserting the medication is allegedly unsafe.

In recent weeks, the former president caused concern from medical authorities when he told pregnant women to "struggle intensely" not to take Tylenol when ill.
