The incident resulted in the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Two men have been charged in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected capsaicin spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.

These accusations come after an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, authorities reported.

A toddler was among those injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
